Egypt launches Museum of Quran Reciters

Egypt has inaugurated its first Museum of Quran Reciters at the Egypt Cultural and Islamic Center in the New Administrative Capital near Cairo, celebrating the country’s rich spiritual and cultural heritage and honoring the iconic voices of Quranic recitation.

Hawzah News Agency- Designed by engineer Karim Al-Shapouri, the museum features four main halls displaying manuscripts, rare recordings, and Quranic licenses donated by Al-Azhar. It also includes a dedicated listening hall where visitors can experience selected recitations and learn about the lives and contributions of the reciters.

Speaking at the ceremony, Minister Al-Azhari said the museum represents an important step in preserving Egypt’s moderate religious identity and honoring the figures who carried the Holy Quran to people’s hearts before their ears. He noted that the Egyptian school of Quranic recitation has played a vital role in promoting correct understanding of the Quran and instilling values of beauty, humility, and moderation, adding that the museum will help introduce future generations to the legacy and spiritual impact of these eminent reciters.
